Our Story

The Beach Bar surf school has been up and running since 2014. We are located in the campsite of the Beach bar in Aughris Co. Sligo. We are open year round, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to help.

Owned and run by Andrew Hughes who is a qualified beach lifeguard, pool lifeguard and surf instructor. Andy has been surfing since he was 15 and has an extensive knowledge of the Sligo area as well as 12 years surf coaching experience. Our surf school is Irish Surfing Association registered and so are all of our coaches. Our coaches are Garda vetted and endeavour to provide a safe relaxed environment for your surfing journey.

We have hot showers available from €1. There’s an extensive food and drinks selection at the Beach Bar pub and restaurant. It’s the perfect setting to discuss all the epic waves and wipeouts from the days surf session. The Beach Bar also has a B&B if you fancy waking up to epic views of the surf and county sligo.
